Interest Screen Accurate Back to the Future 2 Marty's 2015 Jacket Belt and Cuffs

Re: Back to the Future 2 Marty's 2015 Jacket Belt and Cuffs

Hello, I'm interested. I was wondering what you think of attaching the belts to the jackets with Super Strong Magnets(like the ones that are inside hard drives)? I have a few and they seem to be hard to separate from each other, which would be much easier to swap out.

I'm sure you could find some number of magnets that would work, BUT the question becomes at what cost? I'm not talking monetary cost, I'm thinking about: what if your phone is in your pocket. Would the magnets affect it? What about a watch? Could it break the watch? Even more simply: What about any metal you have on you like a zipper. The last thing Marty needs is a wardrobe malfunction because his jacket is magnetically attached to his zipper. :p

Once you have it in hand, try it out and report back, though! Maybe you're onto something. Just don't get stuck to your zipper. :lol

PS: Added you to the list.

Quick update: The 3D printed parts have been ordered. Once I have them in hand, I can begin mastering them to be molded.

Bump for interest while I'm waiting on the prints.

Add me to the list as I already have the Jacket. Needing by 12/12/2015 as I am going to an Event dressed as Marty and arriving in a Delorean, I'd love to have my jacket finished so it is as authentic as possible.

Dunno how i missed this until now, i'm interested!! I have the markpoon jacket, but was never happy with the belt and cuffs, so have never attached them. Look forward to see how these turn out :thumbsup

Well, then hopefully you'll like mine enough to attach them.

Added to the list.

Please add me to the list. Also have Markpoons jacket but have held off from adding the belt and cuffs as iv wanted someone to do rubber casts. Very well done mate. Look forward to seeing the end result

I'm interested :thumbsup

Just added both of you to the list.

I'll make sure to keep everyone updated as my prints arrive.

Add me on as interested (would like to see a sample before I commit) want to upgrade my markpoon jacket.

Thanks!
You got it. I'll probably only collect money from small sections of the list at a time, so by the time it's your turn, there should be a few samples out in the wild.

As an update: The prints are ready and being shipped. Should have them by midweek since they don't have too far to travel.

Considering it's 1AM on October 29th, I'm going to go ahead and say this shipping estimate is wrong :lol

...hell, it's still at the "Origin Facility" and hasn't had any new tracking info on it in 48 hours.

Of course the slowdown in this entire process is the US Postal service. haha

Luckily when it comes to molding and casting, I live within driving distance of Smooth-On's headquarters so there's no need to wait for anything there.

I'll keep you guys updated, since I'm just as excited as you to get these pieces in my hands.

Keep letting me know if you're interested in the interim here, and I'll keep refreshing the tracking information like a nerd.
