Scratch built Lunar Module

Has anyone built a scratch built lunar module? I’ve been toying around with the idea of doing an aluminum version in 1/32 but have to figure out the logistics (like finding someone with a machine that could turn out a few parts). Anyway, curious if anyone has attempted this.

This is something i have been thinking about doing also, not sure what size yet, so would also like to know if anyone has done one.

Re: Scratch built Lunar Modale

The question is, ...which one to build?
I think there were 15 LM built by Grumman. (6 landed on the moon)
There's a company out there that does a fairly good 1/32 resin kit.

Feek, don't lie. You have one of these in your garage too don't you.....

Monogram does a great LEM. I have the kit but have not put it together. If you are going for scratch built, why not do it in 1/16 or even 1/6? Both would be of the size that you could display with ease.

And DarkHelmet, I love your tag line ;)

Re: Scratch built Lunar Modale

Love to see a large scale LM. Especially with the 40th anniversary of the faked moon landing coming up. :lol

Accurate Models (Custom Replicas) was supposed to be working on a 1/32 scale KIT, which would be the largest kit available and VERY accurate. But I haven't seen updates in a long time.

The Monogram and Revell kits from the 60s have nostalgia value but they aren't accurate when you get down to it. People do good things with them anyway but they're small and just not accurate.

Adam Savage did one for the Moon Landing Conspiracies show. PM him. It was sizable.
