Well...I was banned from doing anything on FB for 72 hours outside of sending and receiving messages, here I am.
The haters..............they poke, they will not rest until they get what they want, when they don't even know what it is. Some kind of moment of satisfaction in trying to bring someone else down? because you can't bring yourself up? I dunno, we could go on all day about how "haters gunna hate" and all that. In this case they have taken the time to poke in the right place I suppose. Do you want me dead? To lose my hair? what? Really, I don't know what they would do with out me....maybe, DO something I hope.
Much like my Etsy and Storenvy, The Snikt Shop page has been taken down by Facebook after a report from .....a large company's lawyer. I don't think this lawyer guy has any idea what the "cosplay community" is or how/where everyone gets their stuff made, but if we are going to split hairs, then - Yes, Snikt Shop is probably violating some sort of copyright or likeness deal....WE ALL ARE.
As I tried to explain, us small time prop makers are part of a big machine. The cosplay community is a corner stone of the fan base. People expressing their love for characters in an extraordinary way. Unfortunately, not everyone has the skills, time, talents, or whatever to make their own items all of the time - but everyone is allowed to be a fan, and to express that however they desire. Myself and other artists are here to fill in that gap.
The gears were already in motion before I got to say a word, but I await response to my letter to try and smooth the situation over or at least come to an understanding. I do hope that we can settle and move on from this issue. If we can not come to a solution, I fear that the entire community is vulnerable. I am trying to keep a lid on it for now, but believe me....if this gets ugly, it gets ugly for ALL OF US. If it does, I will make sure that those responsible are pointed out and held accountable, not by me, not by the law, but by their peers.
It has also been suggested that this is an elaborate hoax, with someone posing as the lawyer. This would not surprise me as I was able to find all of the required information through a simple google search. When I requested a phone number and mailing address so that there can be formal communication rather than E-Mail, as well as request for a formal/letterhead notice in my own mail box, I have gotten no response. However, I will treat this as a legitimate claim until otherwise has been proven though, like I said in a court room...they would probably win, not arguing that.
One of the original images that was reported was simply a picture of myself in a Deadpool mask. I suggested that this man do a google search for "deadpool mask" and see what he finds.....do you see where this is going? We know why I was singled out or how I was brought to their attention, but do you think they are going to stop with me?
Is this some kind of victory for someone? I am sure those responsible for this mess are smiling, but your hate and attacks not going to hurt anyone, just EVERYONE - including yourselves. You have opened a black hole, ANYONE making props, prints, art, based on someone else's characters is now in jeopordy.
I am sure some people are sitting there enjoying this..and we all know why. To those people I want you to remember - read it real slow - No matter what you say, or even do... no one on this earth can take away my skills or talents. I will always create things and chances are I will always be making things for others. My experience, skills, and talents will always carry me through, here, there, or anywhere....you cannot stop me from simply - DOING.

This is karma at its finest. I love the parts where he talks about how we've threatened the community, like he gives two s**** about the rest of us. If he cared about the prop community then he would not he recasting and overcharging people. Just another ploy to not look like a scam artist.
Also, real smart of him to clearly state on the internet that he will NOT stop making props and selling them, regardless of the outcome. I really hope whatever company that's after him reads that. And I agree, he will try to take every known prop maker down with him.
I hope this scares him straight if anything. But I doubt it.

He has an out or two in his wording, but for sure, he's trying to say "I'll still sell you stuff" to customers and "I'm complying with the C&D" to the lawyers, at the same time. Hopefully they will take him apart.

I hope he realized there is a BIG difference in what he does as opposed to the whole costume community.
These companies tolerate costumers creating costumes and maybe offering a few up for sale...
But he MADE A BUSINESS, and an Internet presence SELLING MARVEL IP VIOLATIONS.
Sell one or two Wolverine claws a year, that's one thing, but pump them out on an assembly line....

Put it in print and realize that you are not making Snikt look like a Martyr, you are just poking the bear and YOU AND YOUR CRONIES are the ones doing damage to the community. I doubt he's dealing with a "fake" lawyer, but I'm wondering what will happen to the props and costumes people paid for when he's shut down for good. I know he says he'll keep making them regardless of the outcome, but I doubt this will happen, and I'm pretty certain nobody's getting a refund.

Sniktshop and his many aka has not been truthful before and i do have some doubts wether this whole c&d issue is real or not.
It could be a ploy for sniktshop to not fullfill his obligations to his customers or to gather sympanthy or etc...
If it is true, it sounds like something a scammed or disgruntal customer would do.
The cosplay / prop communities are not endangered by this c&d to sniktshop, but will be if
he starts indiscriminately pointing fingers and naming names.
If Sniktshop does go through with this, then he will not be a martyr but an outcast.
The tight knitted cosplay community will no be pleased with sniktshop trying to set fire to their world.

Without that platform to get income to live off of, I bet he needs these orders to be completed so he can improve his rep via word of mouth. He needs happy customers to order more or to recommend him under the radar. If he burns every bridge past and present, his future in the hobby is over.
In the past, he just scammed people and them used his online presence and shop to entice people to place orders, thus sucking in new blood to drain.
But now he cannot do that as the public bolstering of his work will only paint a bigger target on his back.
