Had a little downtime recently and decided to build an accurate scaled down Deadmau5 helmet, always wanted one just don't have the display space for a full sized helmet. I used a 4" acrylic ball as a base, which would put this in at approx. 1/3rd scale. Just a quick and dirty pull to make sure all the detail got picked up in the mold, not bad for my first slush cast attempt. As you can see I glued a plastic cup to the master (in primer), this not only allowed for a pour spout but also created a circle so the hole at the bottom does not need to be dremelled out, the flashing just needs to be removed and sanded down (not yet sanded flush, where you can see a ring). Plus we all know we don't have the patience to wait until the final product, that's what the dry fitting is for! :lol The ears are just paper templates to check for size and fit since I plan on having them laser cut from acrylic for the final product. the eye on the right was sanded with 120grit sandpaper to frost it and distribute light better. Cant wait to figure out the ears and start getting these babies painted up!
