Saturday night saber build challenge

I brought this up in my other thread about who builds sabers anymore....but I thought it would be cool to post separately.

Seriously, who wants to participate in a scratch-build challenge that is about 2 hours at most? I hope some of you do. It is SATURDAY NIGHT, for crying out loud. :lol

If I hear from 2 or 3 willing participants, I'll join the fun.

:unsure Huh, I have saber which I designed but unfortunately don't have the machines or the skill to construct it :(.

My intentions aren't to steal your thread friend, and please PM me and I'll edit it. However, anyone there willing to take the challange' I'm willing to pay the fees to get my personally designed saber made.

You did nothing wrong, man! I think you just misunderstood what I was asking.

This wasn't for profit, charity, or anything except fun. I wanted to get a group of us going to construct a lightsaber out of crap around the house. I think that would be interesting. :)

BTW, do not underestimate yourself - sure, you have the "skills" to build a saber. Everyone here does. It just takes a little self-confidence and imagination!

Sounds like fun...

Unfortunately, 'tis now Sunday morning and I barely got home from being at work since 3pm yesterday....:unsure

Reminds me of the "Dollar store saber" contest from 4 or so years ago; maybe a Sunday night build would fare better for those of us that work weekends? I'd be in for it :thumbsup

Every jedi must build a saber at least once.. (which means, just do it, and see how it comes out!)

I discovered this thread too late as well. Sunday might work better, but would advanced notice ruin the spirit of it? Since it seems to me the challenge was to build something with zero advance notice.

Also, some might be at a disadvantage if they only buy what they need for any project, while some of us (me) compulsively collect every possible item that could conceivably be used for a saber build.

That would be my problem, I have NOTHING where I live that could be cobbled together at short notice, i usually go strolling down the plumbing aisle and get inspired.
