Satele Shan Lightsaber

I keep looking for people who are making and selling some of the saber concepts from SWTOR but most of the sites I find are still stuck on the ugly and impractical to hold Lucas versions. Nor do I wasnt something that everyone else has and is stamped out mass produced.

If you ever decide to do made to order sabers please let me know.

That´s is all sorts of cool :thumbsup

Especially considering the fact, that you basically had no powertools for this build.
Love the step-by-step tutorial

Update time!

Even though I had the saber functioning at CVI, the electronics had a couple of serious issues. First, my attempt to do a custom sound scheme for my wife (which was beyond anything that the "commercial" cards could handle on their own) failed miserably and the result was that Holly had no sound. Second, as CVI progressed, the LEDs continued to get dimmer as the transistor array I was using fried.

I've now completed a complete rebuild of the electronics. The initial version had a small connector tube that was intended to be a sound chamber, and the remainder of the electronics/batteries slid into either side of the hilt. The new version has a full stainless steel chassis that holds batteries, electronics, speaker, and crystal.

To get everything to fit (Nano Biscotte, Arduino Pro Mini, transistor array, and three constant current LED drivers + extras) I needed to etch a couple of PCBs.

After waaay too much wiring/soldering, everything was in place and working.

Here's a quick video (though I apologize for the quality) showing "Moon River" playing when the NB/Arduino are brought out of deep sleep, "Indiana Jones Theme" leading into the ignition sound, and Toto's "Africa" leading into the retraction sound.

The saber by itself is pretty great, but the etching takes it to an entirely new plane. It's beautiful! Well done!

Wow this is just amazing, I've been thinking of finding someone to do a commission of Satele's saber.
Would you do a commission?

I think I said this over at the other forms, but that is some very clean etching. Always loved your work.

Nice work. I like the saber you made with the glowing light in the middle.

Thank you everyone. I'm currently working on a new version with a few visual changes, though significantly less complicated electronics. I'll start a thread for that build once I have a bit more progress to show.

Awesome work, Tiffany Blue or as I shall be calling it from now on The original color of Lukes saber before the touch ups in the 90s...
