SAN DIEGO COMIC CON 2011 - Whats New, Pictures and Stories, ....Post it all here!

is EFX making the McQuarrie X-Wing?

Moffeaton,

The X-wing they had on display may have been but I didn't look at it more carefully to answer that. Perhaps someone can that returns later from the con. You can see it in one of my pics above.

Heard Spielburg just announced Jurassic Park 4.

Spielberg with an E... =)

Looks that way!
Jurassic Park IV (????) - IMDb

Jurassic Park IV - Let's Get This Movie Into Production!
The director said simply, "We are in discussions about 'Jurassic Park 4.' The most important thing I can tell you is that it starts a new trilogy that will go off in a different direction - a completely different direction that is very exciting, and different from anything we've seen." Johnston continued by saying that, "It starts with the history of the first trilogy, but it spins it off in a completely different direction. That's all I can tell you."

Awesome pics and info so far!

Not to derail the thread, but if JP 4 is made, i wanna see a dinosaur invasion movie, not no little isolated incidents but a full on dino invasion taking over the planet!

Up next, the Quantum Mechanix Booth. They were showing off the Star Trek Motion Picture Enterprise which is my favorite. Looks scaled to 1/350th, this model was awesome but unfortunately out of range of most wallets at $5000. Lighting was marvelous with an interior botanical garden, lounge and shuttle bay with working landing lights that chase inward.
They were also displaying the Tesla gun from Warehouse 13. Beautifully built but I certainly couldn't afford it at $1200. They were also selling working Farnsworth Communicators which were much more affordable. these will certainly sell out before the show ends.
The cube from Super 8 looked cool too.

They are testing the Waters.

Yeah, that Kit might look familiar.

IF there is a enough positive response, They would make a version of it.

The one displayed is a PLACE HOLDER, and had the idiot who painted it had not waited to the last minute, it might have looked as good as Moffeaton's.

Tell Bryan he can borrow mine any time, or I can always paint something for him. I'd do it for product, like old times, lol.

They make a few things I wouldn't mind having.

I am not a trekkie, but that Enterprise is awesome detailing.

Another company called "Anovos" at the eFX booth were showing their prototype Battlestar Galactica Guns they will be replicating and had on display their line of costumes from Star Trek and other film and TV franchises.

Yesssssssss! :love

I'd take it with a grain of salt. They've been "discussing" JP4 for many years. I personally think that until they give us something more solid, you might aswell forget about a sequel for now.

Just take the compliment, and....dont let your head swell or you wont fit through the entrance.

That refit has to be the polar lights kit right?

I'm not sure and didn't think to ask. From looking at this model closely I honestly doubt it. It would be an easy thing just to examine a polar lights kit and see if there's any "tells" that match. Its sitting on display right next to the edge of the booth so you can practically breath on it. Regardless the model is freaking beautiful and frankly if I could afford it I'd buy it.

On to the Profiles in History booth. Desi Dos Santos will be auctioning off his Screen Used BTTF 3 Deloreon and had it on display at their booth. For a $20 donation to Michael J Fox's Foundation for Parkinsons Disease, you could get your picture taken in high res sitting in the car. Claudia Wells (BTTF1) and Jeffery Weissman (BTTF 2 & 3) were signing autographs. Also there were many BTTF screen used props on display.
