Sam Bell Moon Patches

Hey everyone. I just received some patches from the movie Moon that Sam wore on his jacket. I thought they were cool until I noticed that everything that is spelled in Korean is wrong (My girlfriend is native Korean and confirmed this). So now I am making my own with the corrected spelling plus some of the patches that are not available anywhere. Maybe if there is enough interest I could do a run of the whole collection. Maybe this should be in the JunkYard but I can't post there for another week. Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know that this is something that I am thinking about doing and improving upon (with more than just patches, I have some other groovy ideas too).

It wasn't just the Korean! At least one of the Moon patches has 'helium' wrong. :lol

Yes I am fixing that and adding all the stuff they missed. I hope to share it with others here as my first run of something. It could be the start of something very cool. I hired my brother and another guy for some other tasks. When I am ready I should have at least 3 or 4 different props lined up to run.

The only patches I saw have the word Sarang which means love.

It looks correct to me. What are the differences?

Look close. Its easy to see when you get it in real life. 사랑 is indeed the word for love but they spelled the word for candy which is 사탕

Copy and past those words into Word and make the font bigger

Actually they just forgot to close the top right corner of the letter R (ㄹ). The letter isn't a T (ㅌ) although it does look similar.

They got it right on the flags and signs so I think it was a sewing issue rather than the wrong letter.

If you need them I've got a good start on the "L" and the full Lunar Industries logo traced out in photoshop.

I used the images to make these t-shirts (the images still need a little tweeking but happy to share the roughs).

Does anyone have a good screen shot of the back of Sam's jumpsuit? I'd like to recreate that image (large "L" on white background with some text below).

I've been wanting to put together the Sam Bell jumpsuit costume. I was able to aquire all the patches on Ebay except for one. I'm still looking for the blue and orange checkered patch on his left sleeve. Anyone know where I can get one?

Hey Guys! I'm soooo happy to find other Moon fans!! I'm so excited!! :love
Just like Khorsfilms, I've decided to build up a Sam Bell's outfit. If I found all patches on ebay, the biggest problem is the jump suit. I've been searching a lot for the very same but I can't find it. HOWEVER, I could find something really really close: See here It was hard finding a grey one, it's made by MIL-TEC. The only differences I found between that one and the original one, is that:

1. the MIL-TEC one has three ventilation eylets under the arm pit. Not sure Sam Bells' does.
2. the original jumpsuit has black tabs on the hip, the MIL-TEC doesn't, but it has one pressure button instead. Maybe they covered it for the movie?
3. the collar of Sam Bell's jumpsuit is a kind of short "mandarin" collar. The MIL-TEC jumpsuit seems to have a wider collar. But maybe it's only because Sam's one was zipped pretty high?
4. the MIL-TEC has cord zipper-pulls that will be cut off, of course...
5. the original jumpsuit seems a little darker but I guess it's a question of lighthing.

I think I'm going to buy that MIL-TEC jumpsuit and we'll see. Black tabs are easy to add and some sewing work doesn't frighten me if the collar needs some modification. :ninja

Last thing about the big "L" logo on the jumpsuit's back: does anyone has a picture of it? I need it cause I don't know what size it is. Anti, could you find something?
