RussRep Baker Sonic to Genisis of the Daleks conversion

I wanted to add one of the anodized Sonic Screwdriver heads that Russ was offering in his last run to my old Tom Baker style sonic screwdriver. I ordered a new anodized tip but the screw hole was a different size in the new one compared to the one holding the original head on.

Since I had to re-drill and tap a new hole anyway (and since the version of the Sonic from Genesis of the Daleks was my favorite :love) I figured I would fix up a few things while I was at it.

I added the extending head and shimmed the the slide so that about 1/4 inch of the bullet sticks out when the Sonic is closed. I did not have any etching primer so I have to pick some up and re-paint the bullet tomorrow. There is a bit too much (about 1/8 inch) of the slide sticking out above the handle that I have to adjust. A bit steel wool to clean up the finish and it should look nice.

These are by far the best Sonics made to date. :cheers
Hats off to Russ!!!

SWEET!
I knew I should have scrounged up the ca$h to make it happen. Oh well, maybe next time.
Anyway, beautiful sonic and I'm inclined to agree, it's the best I've seen.

If you'll remember, I was the one that asked Russ and manofsteel25 about the extending emitter. Sadly, Russ has not yet engineered that feature into his replicas. I can only hope he decides to engineer it into the electronic version he's going to be making at some point.
