Ok so I take it that's a no on the stickers lol. I went and picked up a few different colour blues today so I'll see which matches up to the aged blue on the real helmet. I'm going to make myself some vinyl stencils, does anyone know the measurement of the tube stripes?
Sometime ago i bought from a member of the RPF the stencils for the stripes (for the Siman helmet) . Search for it ...

Ahh brilliant, I remember seeing that thread a while back.
The only reason I ask is that I have access to an industrial vinyl cutter that can make something very similar to those, but for that price I might as well go for them being they are accurately scaled.

Looking through my old threads and noticed I never finished this one off with the final photos. Dont like seeing a non finished thread. Sadly I sold this helmet the other day, I hope the owner dosent mind me posting these up but like I said, Nice to finish the thread off.
So I went ahead and hand painted everything, but using the stencils for the kill stripes. So everything is all wonky and uneven just like the originals I also applied pigments to create the aged/sat on shelf look with the yellowing. I think it came out really well but the camera has washed it out. I tried my best at replicating the actual wear on the Dave M helmet, and I think ive done alright.
Hope to pick another one up after Christmas and do the same, this time I will keep hold of it as these helmets are absolutely fantastic.
