Happy New year all. This top post is a placeholder to preview the models and overview the designs while preparing a larger, and more cumulative post.
The short of it is this:
This model is based predominantly on reference from PropStore auction #373. After much review, and comparative analysis of the existing/ known ROTS hilts I believe it is “the belt hanger” seen on his arrival to Mustafar; and in the hallway with Bail Organa.
Ronin Sabers (who you may know as a reputable installer, YouTube reviewer, and hilt designer) and I got to talking about his initial modeling of this hilt last year and wound up going into very great depths of refinement. I’ll do some direct mirrors a bit later so we can discuss nuance.
We have a static version on deck using mixed media (chrome plated plastic / paintable plastic / aluminum / steel / brass / threaded rod/ and tension pins for clocking)
And we have an FX version on deck, where RoninSabers is currently filling that out with his chassis design.
Quick features on FX:
-7/8 blade only
-Brass and copper neck collars and solid emitter with integral neck bolt/ core.
-Clockable booster and pommel via heavy duty internal slip collars.
-Tactile dual box switches.
-Fully removable chassis/ core
