Rotocasting Machine

HERE's my friends rotocaster. I made a few toys with it and it worked great.

I can get some pics if your interested.

Is it just me, or does it seem to be rotating a bit fast? Seems like the resin wouldn't have time to move to different areas inside the mold (as centrifugal force would keep the resin slung to the outside of the mold interior). :confused

In any event, I'm looking forward to the posting of the plans! :thumbsup

Could be the video but I know he said that different size pulleys can slow or speed up the rotation.

Or you could wire a potentiometer/rheostat up to the motor and control the voltage (and speed) that way - like using a light dimmer. :)

My friend sent me this link. He doesn't have plans for his machine but used this same concept. He made his up as he went he said. He also noted that his spins up to 60 rpm's which is a bit fast. The example in the link is only 4-5 rpm's. He said 30 rpm's is good.

His design is similar to this but not as large:

He's going to try to get me better close up pics of his machine.

I would love to have a machine like that also
However I do not have the time, patience or the proper tools to make the wooden frame to build one
