Hey everyone I'm a 501st member (TK4322) and I'm defecting to the Rebel Legion to start on my ROTJ Luke costume. Any tips on how to make this costume :confused? I have no sewing knowledge but my girlfriend's mom is a seamstress so If anyone could provide what types of fabric/patterns I should use for this any information would help. Also I found a place to buy my belt but have no idea where to buy boots or a ROTJ lightsbaer hilt :confused. I have already done some research on the rebel legion boards but would also like any help here from you guys.

Boots are equestrian riding boots. My girlfriend just winged it when she made the shirt and it came out awesome. Got the grey flap to flip down and everything. I had tons of pics and helped with the patterns.

Pants- you can get basic military ones from a surplus store. I had an ESB gunbelt as my costume was the original design where he still had a blaster along with a black cloak. Much cooler.

eFX makes a resin saber. Others keep showing up on here if you want to finish it yourself.

Theres a good shot of his upper outfit when he salutes r2 on the movie, time is 32:33, u could probly sketch it based on that image. Not sure wat kind of mterial it is though

It's been 10 years since I did my outfit but I'll try to help.

From what I am told, the real pants are police motorcycle breeches. I believe if you look closely, you will also see a black stripe up the side.

Something like these:
Breeches

I did mine as a jumpsuit. It helps with a nice fit and with the belt, you cannot tell. Whatever you do for pants, you want to make sure you have stirrups to keep them in your riding boots.

From what I have been told, the vest, tabbard, and obi are raw silk. Mine is raw silk and it looks spot on (IMHO). I have tried and seen other materials and they never look right.

My suit is done in 100% worsted wool suit material. It looks great, not something you want to wear in the sun during summer. I am sure that it is not accurate but looks nice.

You need to wear a V2 style lightsaber. You do not want to use a hero because the tri-ring and the control box are the same side, the box will dig into your leg. Also the tri-ring is cumbersome on the hook.
