Rose Parade Stormtroopers!!!

Hi, gang. I live just south of the Rose Parade route and am wondering who will be around and in town for the Rose Parade as a stormtrooper. They are using the 501st, right?.

Are there any plans for y'all to get together the night before?

And curious - is there anyone in the "know" about this event that I can PM with?

Not to be a stickler but this is proprietary information that was not supposed to be talked about outside the legion until after the event AFAIK.

I've been trying to get a 501st membership for this very reason and I've heard that the 501st wont be needing any more people to participate. I guess LFL chose who they want and dont want at the event. I think a friend and I may both go as stormtroopers anyway, members of the 501st or not. I live 2 hours away from Pasadena but I still want to go.

Anyway, I used to work at LFL (ten years ago though), live walking distance from the Parade route, and was born and raised in Pasadena.

If ANY of you have questions about the town, where to stay, where to bust out, or whatever, feel free to PM me as I know the town very very well.

I don't think you'll get in. While I can't give details, let's say that there is almost a week of preparation that our boys have to endure before doing the parade. I elected not to participate for this reason and will be watching it on TV... most likely hung-over.

Right, its not proprietary information that the 501st is involved but the specifics involving the participation are.

Let's just say that about 200 of us will be there in force. ;-)

As for joining up with the Legion just so you have a shot of going. Sorry but there's no chance. The participants have been informed already and were hand picked by LFL through audition tapes that were sent in months ago.

How do you figure? Because the 501st was invited and requested to participate by George Lucas himself as a thank you for all the work it does to promote Star Wars and through all it's charity work? Sorry but I fail to see how that's elitism.
