so glad you posted this. I was going to share it if no one else had. 
I loved the solution. It's a cool, simple way to get that ink changing effect IRL, as opposed to digital effects.

Not to raid on anyone's parade but this method has been used alot and also doesnt work. I own a bought thermo mask and a hand made thermo mask. Both dont work as much as you think it would, the issue is spreading the heat around the whole face instead of just the nose/mouth area. That and also the heat it takes to generate the change would either make you pass out from breathing to hard or you would need a fan constantly on you. Also climate can affect the performance of the mask depending if you live in a cold or hot environment. From watching the video hes breathing quite hard and the paint is only changing on the nose/mouth. Id go with a static mask any day over the thermo ink.
Also some thermo ink is toxic, so if you undertake it make sure its okay and not harmful to breath in.

"RAIN" on anyones parade?? Wait until you see my mask. I'm going to be buying some more ink soon and I have a method to spread the heat and it's awesome. Once I have it all done I'll post up a vid and reveal the secret!!

Oooo can't wait how you dissipate the heat, I'm actually genuinely intrigued.
If you ever need to shift some I can't see you having an issue.

I thought about using small air hose and a mouth piece to spread the effect, but hiding the ridges is posing a problem for me. Any ideas?

faceshell? thats my only guess. Even in the movie the actor wore one to generalize the face

I was thinking a faceshell with some type of heating wire that can run off a battery that has an alternating power.. So certain wires heat up then a different set etc etc. If that makes sense.
