Romeo + Juliet /Wanted Pistol Project - Completed!

Re: Romeo + Juliet /Wanted Pistol Project - Big update 26/2

How is the WANTED pistol coming along?

It's not :lol

Everything's in a queue, I'm totally crappy at multitasking, so I'll be finishing all the R&J guns before starting on the wanted stuff, but that shouldn't be too long.

I thought I was gonna have a real problem with the Benvolio Sword grips, but I've been playing around tonight, just painting swirls of white pearl onto black grips. From the images I have it appears there is a Montague crest on the right grip, but it kind of merges into the pattern.

The other thing I have to do is cut the slide in half in order to extend it, put in a new barrel (fortunately not moulded as part of the slide on this airsoft) and extend he frame under the new slide. Easy!

Re: Romeo + Juliet /Wanted Pistol Project - Big update 26/2

Benvolio's Sword is my favorite out of the bunch!

Re: Romeo + Juliet /Wanted Pistol Project - Big update 26/2

Thanks for pointing out my sloppy workmanship :rolleyes

The cutouts on the handle of the Dagger are not as smooth as I would have liked. Cutting plastic with a dremel is not easy since it melts as you cut it. So I'm working with a hacksaw, some cheap placky airsofts and a bit of enthusiasm and ambition on a project nobody else has even attempted no matter how good their equipment or base pieces.

Maybe I could mail them to you for a better finishing job?

Well, sand paper would smooth that out nicely. And also dremel makes some very nice wheels for smoothing and sanding too.

Re: Romeo + Juliet /Wanted Pistol Project - Big update 26/2

Cleaned up the grip sections on the Dagger and finished Benvolio's Sword 9mm Series with extended slide and barrel & white on black pearl grips. She looks pretty sweet :)

I will be going back to do Juliet's Walther, but I have a hankering to take on Fox's Matchmaster from Wanted next. Cool gun :cool

Re: Romeo + Juliet /Wanted Pistol Project - Update 13/3

B.A dude! I want that Benvolio's Sword 9mm Series so bad!!!

Re: Romeo + Juliet /Wanted Pistol Project - Update 13/3

Wow! Nice job! Ive always wanted to make the R+j guns, but never really got into it...I made Fox's matchmaker though, i put a WIP thread on this forum, but considering the "decals" were hand painted with horrible brushes, it didnt turn out as well as I would have liked. But take a look at it, in case you need any inspiration :)

Re: Romeo + Juliet /Wanted Pistol Project - Update 13/3

They look fantastic displayed together too. Looks good!!

Re: Romeo + Juliet /Wanted Pistol Project - Update 13/3

What did you use to get the gold parts looking so good?

Also is that member on another forum that is milling out the M9 for Mercutio's gun willing to do another one?

Thanks

The gold parts are sprayed with Rustoleum metallic gold. There's a good thread on here somewhere about the best reflective paints, I chose Rustoleum because it's a lost more durable than Plastikote, that looks great until you touch it.

I haven't had a chance to discuss the metal Dagger yet, I want to finish these first.

And so, my friends, another project lurches inexorably towards a conclusion, bending bullets and shooting the wings off flies as she goes...

This is so freakin' wild :lol

Nice work on the R+J guns.

If you haven't seen it, these are some decent refs for some of the guns:

Romeo + Juliet « a fun blog

My blog, incidentally. Ahem :)

I think your Benvolio looks the best. It's a relatively subtle design :lol

Congratulations - that's cool stuff :)

Loving that Matchmaster; interesting to see how you did it. I would've never thought of doing it that way. It came out really well! Don't suppose you have any close ups of that bullet? Looks pretty interesting.

Good lord. This is one of the most original/well done gun props I've seen yet. When i watched the movie with a couple of my friends they all thought it was dumb, but i loved it! I look forward to maybe making one of these myself one day! HAHA INSPIRATION!!!

Great job with the wanted guns! Ive never seen Welsey's gun made before, but have always wanted to see it done, so this is even more awesome for me!

Glad you like 'em :thumbsup

The bullet was a freebie with very limited amounts of the DVD in the UK. It's actually a keyring, but is pretty nice for this kind of thing. It's made of metal and is quite heavy. Unfortunately it has the logo stamped on the other side, but it's cool for display with the guns.
