Rocketeer Helmet Liner

I just got my hands on an ACME Rocketeer helmet (Thanks Clint, and anyone who referred me to him!) ... I've read enough to handle the finishing of this thing, except for one detail I've barely seen discussed. The liner. I've seen a couple guys do a serviceable job with old aviator helmets, etc. But little info of something close to accurate. Some say the MR version came the closest. Has anyone removed the MR liner and uploaded a pattern? I'm fairly handy with a sewing machine, but sure would like a gander at something close to accurate before I just start making things up.

Am I missing something, has there been a discussion of this?

There was a member here that made the rocketeer helmet liners a few years ago. However, he is too busy to do another run..

Your best bet is to copy the master replicas helmet liner..I can take pictures of mine and post them if you dont have the MR helmet

That sir, would be fantastic, and much appreciated! I'd like to do something approaching correct. I'm really surprised the anal-retentiveness of our hobby has not resulted in a detailed conversation of this

No Problem. I will post pictures later tonight when I get home.

If you consider making more than one, please let me know. I call dibbs on the first extra one haha. I need one for my production helmet...

I dont think there is much interest on rocketeer items on the rpf..It isnt one of the biggies on this board. The finheadcentral.yuku.com is a great place for rocketeer info, but it goes through it's moments of being dead.

I personally LOVE the Rocketeer and have always wanted to have that costume. But it is always out of my price range. With the helmet, jacket, boots, and most of all the pack it's right up there with a high quality Batman costume. The one prop I've always wanted to thumb through though is the Hughes File.

Yeah, if you can create a new pattern based on the MR helmet, that'd be the best thing to do. It's closest to the real thing except it needs more stuffing than what the MR had. And if you make extras, I'm sure you could sell them. Heck, I'd be interested in one myself. I've toyed with the idea of making some or getting some made but haven't had the time or finances to pursue it.
