Robotech?

Ive started playing around on a few parts here n there
in my spare time

started a thread on my scott shadow flightsuit

Yea, at first glance they seem like that at most they'd just move up and down but in some scenes you can clearly see that they move back and forth too. This begs the question of what to make it out of and how to attach it to the armor although I'm thinking that I can make it out of whatever I choose to make the rest of the armor out of and just attach it so that it can move around fairly freely. On the other hand I might make it out of something flexible and attach it loosely too, what do you all think?

attatch the shoulder to armour via a ball and socket joint such as stikfas then it would an enormous range of movement

TK-326 made this

very original and very good result for this cyclone !! i love it !

That's an idea. My current thinking for the armor is to try to make it out of foam although some of the curves might prove to be tricky to make using foam. Anyhow, my plan would be to seal everything with something to make the foam nice and stiff but use something different for the shoulder armor to leave it nice and flexible like it seems to be in the anime. Of course, they could simply be cheating by making it flexible but I think that making it flexible would probably be the best way to go so as not to limit my movements. I really need to work on drawing up some patterns to work from, pity nobody seems to have Pep files of this available, that would save me a lot of time by not having to make my own patterns.

What was the one problem that kept you from doing it?

WOW! There's a oL' blast from the past! I drew that up a loooong time ago when the guys over at Sci-Fi Hero were going to make suits for Dragon Con.
I think I eventually made only two of them, ones still around here in a box (someplace) along with the 8-9 molds.

that blueprint would work good mmmmm if use wood and the bandsaw
that would work
the rifle can be built afterwards
thats a step forward towards my robotech costume build
thanks

it is a V visitor pistol
used a Bad bubble casting from mold
instead of tossing it thought is be possible to rebuild it
into a robotech prop
since arco did that with the V toy rifle and marked it as robotech
