I got one of the older Mutronics helmets from Zorg in the JY a while back (pretty flawless, as usual)
Black gloss on the chin and neck. The chin got wet sanded, buffed and polished. The dome was metallic silver titanium engine paint with a ton of gloss lacquer over it. I didnt wet sand as it was so glossy to begin with. Why open the door for Mr Cock up if you don't have to?

Yours has a more Robocop 1 paint scheme, right?
Depends. Both 1 and 2 paint schemes have the purple/flip highlights. I left that out, I dom't really like it in a display prop. It works well on a costume but for a static, its like painting in a reflection. Just my preference.
In terms of colour, R2 is much bluer than R1. This paint largely depends on the light its in.

In real life it is a lot more blue than photos pick up. So I don't really know what scheme it is

Very nice!! Great setup and I love the lighting!!

These are amazing! Would you ever consider, or have you already posted a painting tutorial video for us noobs out here? I'd love to give this a try as a project at home, but would you love to see your step by step progression. Thanks!

I agree, would love a paint write up.
I bought a unpainted one to paint once I have mastered the art, it was more of final exam for me.
"you have mastered the painting of props..now paint this one as good as the guy whom made it"
