I absolutely loved this movie.
My likes:
The strong family storyline. Much better than the original.
All the armor, even the black one. The silver was a great nod to the original.
The weapons. Not wimped down at all. Even the taser could be lethal, and he killed plenty of bad guys.
Samuel Jackson. I thought this was a vital part of the story - influencing public opinion.
The robotic movement. Plenty of nods to the original, and quite realistic for robots of today, let alone 2028.
Michael Keaton - Great performance, great villain.
Gary Oldman - Perfect as usual.
Loved the use of the original music.
Loved the actual Detroit filming locations. Not sure any of the original (other than the Cobo Hall flyover) was filmed there.
The biological Murphy. That was messed up!
The nutrition infusion system. So much better than a baby food dispenser.
The drug house bust. Very reminiscent of the original, but much shorter.
ED-209, Awesome!
Police corruption. I didn't see the Chief involvement coming.
PG 13 rating - didn't take anything away from the story or the action.
My "could have done betters" (not many):
The hand on a stick. I'm not going to loose any sleep over it.
The warehouse training music. Quite forgettable and didn't add anything to the scene.
Rick Mattox character. I just couldn't buy he was smart enough to be a robotics engineer.
The marketing guy. Just annoying.
Antoine Vallion. Why not use Clarence Boddicker? And he was taken out too easily.
All of the above is just my personal opinion. It's OK if you disagree with any or all of my points. I plan on seeing it again.
