Rise of the Planet of the Apes SPOILERS

Loved it! I found myself rooting for Ceaser. Very well made film. Andy Serkis did a fantastic job just as he did with Golum in bringing life to a CGI character.

It rocked when Ceaser spoke, and I am man enough to admit...I got alittle teary eyed at the end with Ceaser.

Definately liked the movie :thumbsup I do have a few criticisms.

It is Caesars story, so much so that I can't even remember any of the humans names.

It is in that respect I thought the film suffered a bit was lack of any character development and the over the top cartoony neighbor and boss. Which is why I didn't feel for any of them.

At the end when Will tells Caesar to come home he will protect him I almost laughed. I thought how is that going to work, you didn't protect him before, yet now after he's torn up San Fran you think its going to get easier? Unfortunately thats the rub as that line is what led to the response.

I still think its a good movie, it just could have been better had things been flushed out a little more.

i'm bummed we have to wait another week here in the UK to see this.

i had a feeling all along this would be great

Just got back. I was very surprised how much I liked this. :)

It wasn't quite what the trailers made it out to be, since it's much more of a character piece, except the character in question is a CGI chimp. TK765 said it right.. this is Caesar's story, and all the other characters, including the humans, come second. Weta + Andy Serkis did it again, though, and made Caesar into someone real.

Should be interesting to see where they go from here, since it would be kind of silly at this point to simply remake the original film again as a "sequel" to this one.

I'm guessing that the rocket launched to Mars is Taylor's ship that will one day return. There was a quick flash of a newspaper headline that said "LOST IN SPACE" so I'm assuming the ship went missing. If you blinked you missed it.

What is it with naming these ships Icarus when nothing good ever comes from it? Do they not know who Icarus is??

I saw the movie and I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. The only problems I had with the film was that the pacing felt a little rushed in the opening, and the characters like the non-sympathetic neighbor and the evil "I EAT BABIES FOR BREAKFAST!" company exec. Every scene where he talks about how he's only in it for the money could be used for a visual dictionary on clichés. Gotta love the part where he comes into the operations room to observe a procedure when all the walls are made of glass from floor to ceiling.

WOW! very compelling film. soild on all fronts. :thumbsup too bad Tim Burtons "Abortion" had to lead up to this film. :thumbsdown :thumbsdown
I'm glad there wasn't too much hype. I'm sick of gettinbg blasted by the media with their over-blown ad campaingns.
can't wait to see where it all goes? :lol

The effects in this film blew me away. Maurice the circus orangatan was one of my favorites. He was so well played and him becoming essentially one of caesars generals was awesome. I loved when aldo and maurice grab the manhole cover and parking meter like they were nothing and threw them, i was like "You one badass mutha ****a maurice!"

I honestly thing maurice was the best rendered ape of the entire film.

My buddy wants to go see captain america in the next couple days but I think i'm gonna try and talk him into going to see apes.
