Rise of the Planet of the Apes SPOILERS

^Outstanding. I don't see many movies more than once on the big screen, but this one...is worth it. Going to try and catch a late showing tonight.

I wonder why this scene got deleted? Caesar's love interest perhaps?

I don't recall any of the apes being called Zira, but one female was named Cornelia.
Maybe I was mistaken, I just remembered that the camera lingered on the name, and thought it looked familiar! It's been awhile since I saw the Originals and now that I've seen this version, I'm inclined to go watch the Originals again!:)

I wondered about the same thing, even went to see the movie again to see if I had just missed the scene somehow.

After some thought, it made sense to leave that out of the movie. This way, when Caesar goes to the lab it isn't seen as a selfish act, saving his mate, but for liberating all the apes there.

His mate (Lisa) in the originals motivates Caesar to NOT kill. Jeyl has got to love THAT.....right?!?!??!

They could have done that, and may yet do that.

Thats true, that could be why they deleted those scenes. I can't wait for the
Blu ray to come out. :)

There was that one scene where her empty cage was shown with the lab tag on it. Hoping for a lot of extra stuff on the blu ray.

Really loved the easter eggs and homages to the original series.

-The opening scene in the jungle looked very similar to the scene where Taylor and his crew encounter the apes for the first time and are hunted down.

- The use of "Bright eyes" as the name of Ceasars mother.
- The Icarus launch along with the "Lost in Space" nespaper headline.
- "Dodge" and "Landon"
- Ceasar playing with the statue of liberty.
- The urangutan's name was Maurice (Possibly an homage to Maurice Evans who played Dr. Zaius)
-Another ape was called "Cornellia"
- The line "Get your Stinking paws off me....."
- The Line "It's a mad house, A MAD HOUSE!"
- Heston's cameo on the TV.

Don't know if this was an homage to King Kong, but I thopught that the gorilla taking down the only flying vehicle (and getting shot) was a bit ironic.

I also think I spotted that one guy watching a scene from the original Mighty Joe Young on TV.

Any others?

Jacobs - Named after Arthur P. Jacobs
Rodney - Named after Rod Serling
Franklin - Named after Franklin Schaffner

I was a little disappointed there didn't seem to be a character named after Jerry Goldsmith. Speaking of Goldsmith, the film really could've used a better score. I'm sick to death of modern film scoring.

I actually found that Ceasars face reminded me a little of tim roths makeup from Tim Burtons POS planet of the apes remake.

I finally went to see this and I gotta say it was as good as everyone is saying - the only complaint I have, and it's not much, was that the whole "finding a cure for alzheimer's" super drug turned bad -- wasn't that the same road taken in that shark movie with Samuel L Jackson, Thomas Jane and LL Cool J? Doesn't really matter - I really had a great time with this movie.

Did anyone else notice that Ceasar's birthmark moves from one side of his chest as a baby, to the other side as an adult?
