RIP H. R. Giger

I can't believe it! I was so hoping to make a trip to his museum in Switzerland, with the hopes to meet him. I owe so much of my own style,
and started airbrushing, because of Giger. The World has lost a true innovator. I'm so freakin bummed!:(

RIP, king and father of biomechanical

That saddens my heart. From the first time I saw his creations in A L I E N, he has been a huge influence on me and my art. We have lost a great master.
RIP kind sir. Hope you are reunited with Li in Heaven.

Agreed with all, what a loss to the art world let alone the Sci Fi community. He was a true visionary and am proud to have a signed print of his on my wall...even more cherished now he's up with the biomechanics angels. No more art from Giger is such a great shame.....I 'm glad he was potty nutz though, kinda made him even more of a legend .

Another of life's true genius gone but never forgotten.

RIP

I, like probably most of us, was first introduced to his art through ALIEN. No doubt his stuff was unique. Truly a master.

I just heard. I remember doing a report on Giger's work for my art appreciation class at North Florida Community College. I got an A- on it. I still have an art book that covers Giger's work from his young years to his then current year. It's a shame that we've lost him. His work, though dark and maybe disturbing to some, was amazing. RIP Mr. Giger. :(

Sad news indeed, the man was an Alien in the world of Art and will be truly missed by many. Never forget the Giger "look" because it will live forever:(

Read it in the newspaper yesterday and was truly shocked... still am. I was and am such a huge fan of this genius... Was lucky enough to visit an exposition of his art, and while he explained a drawing to me, he stood on my right foot the whole time. I nearly had tears in my eyes because I was too afraid he would walk away if I told him... now the memory alone nearly brings tears to my eyes. Rest in piece, Hansruedi!

A l i e n lost is "father" but Giger's legacy lives on. You will be missed and never forgotten!
Rest in Peace, Hans Rudolf "Ruedi" Giger

Always loved his style but always felt slightly disturbed by the fact that I liked it so much. :(
