looks like a straight face shot to me.
I got my nose broke from my girlfriend leaning back into my face smashing my nose with her shoulder while we were playing around one day. So it blows my mind that her nose looks ok. I dont get it.

Jeeze...that was probably four or five kilos at high speed straight to the face, and she gets told "you have to go on, they don't call it the amazing race for nothing"?
Uh...call me crazy but wouldn't "you need to get checked for concussion" have been a tiny bit more appropriate here?
Edit - Punisher, she was bloody lucky in a ton of ways!! For starters she was already right down on the ground with a soft surface under her, but as to the apparent lack of damage I can't for the life of me work it out either. It should have crushed her nose, could easily have taken out both eyes, etc. I mean if I just walked up to you and swung at you with a watermelon in my hand, even *that* would do some damage, right? Must have been rotten...

Well it is TV and they can selectively edit... They might very well have had an on staff doctor do some basic evaluation on site but off camera, followed by more later on... If you look close although limited screen time in the last scene it appears she is cleaned up, no more pulp on her chest or face to me that might suggest an edit...
Either way I'm sure it didn't feel good, and there were lots of factors all aligning to helped her come out without serious injury for sure...
It looks like she got nailed in the right side of her forehead, just up and forward of her temple.
You can see a split second after the melon connects with her melon, she's spun down and to her left, landing on her left side, if it was a full-on face-shot, she would have been thrown straight back.

She's not pulling it straight back. She hit such an angle that the path of the slingshot became more of an oval, which you can see in the GIF. As such, the lip of the sling curled around the end of the watermelon and held it in at the point where it should have been launched.

Maybe those melons had been sitting out all day in the sun and got all "squishy"?
