Rifle Magazine retention ideas

I Have a couple prop rifles going on at the moment one is a Halo Ma37 the other is a Fallout 3 Gobi scout rifle I would like to incorporate removable magazines and was just going to use magnets on the mag body hidden under thin sintra.
Any other Ideas
Thanks Jerry

It depends on the base materials. Butyl may be enough if its lightweight but not everyone has a roll just laying around the house. Velcro if the magazine is already tight enough to press fit in place. Magnets are the best idea for a seamless fit but you should use neodymium magnets or at least something more powerful than the average fridge magnet.

I once did this using quarter-inch jack plugs. Nice strong connection, gives you a decent whack-it-in sort of effect if you want it to be an Action Toy, if you see what I mean, and it gives you an electrical connection to boot.

neo magnets and jack plugs are great ideas, i've used them in the past for same thing. cant think of anything else to suggest unless you wanted to make a working slide catch for it.

Yes I have used magnets inlet into the mags with a sheet metal mag well liner it works for retention but as was stated you dont get the nice "click" when the mag is slammed home I have an Idea for a mag release button for the gobi. Thanks for the input
