Ridley Scott Prometheus: NOT the Alien Prequel Details

He is saying suit. Turn the volume up and listen again. It's even clearer in the trailer.

I just listened to the trailer and the audio with the earbuds in, and it still sounds like throat to me, but it could be suit, yeah. I'm sure someone who has read the script can let us know for sure. :)

Given the photo that the audio plays over is a shot of a broken dome, and an open mouth with something inside of it (there are some other photos of the same thing online, and whatever it is is moving in or out of his mouth) I think he could be saying throat.

Also, I picked up on "This thing . . . was opened from the inside" in the trailer this time. That certainly sounds interesting.

Because it sounds like he says "In my throat, it was in my throat"..... not it's in my throat. One of the reasons I think he is saying throat and not suit is because of the face huggers and they way they sent a tube down the throat of it's host to implant the alien embryo. Not that he was attacked by a face hugger, but that something went down his throat to implant something.... Just speculation.

The image used is just what the youtube poster chose to use. That audio is from the ass-flower-snake scene. The audio puzzle clips are obviously not in the right sequential order, but listening to the audio and looking at the clips, the gist of the scene is this - The snake thing pops out of the black goo, they approach it, the "petals" pop open, this guy gets a bit too close thinking it is not that dangerous, it rips into the arm of his suit, he falls into the goo, saying, "it's in my suit, it's in my suit", it wraps around his arm, he tries to get the other people to help him, no one wants to touch it, but they do, it then squeezes his arm so tight it crushes the bones, he screams "cut it off, cut it off", then lots of screaming, and more screaming, et cetera.

Actually, he may fall into the black goo before it rips into his suit. His arm already looks like it has the black stuff on it when the snake rips through it. Perhaps it startles him when it grabs his hand first, he falls, gets upright, then it gets inside. Lots of those sound effects sound like someone sloshing around in something mucky.

"It's in my suit." 100% and he's right about the clips being out of sequence too, in fact I think we're hearing a couple different scenes all thrown in together. A majority of it though is exactly what Kit Rae was talking about the ass flower snake scene.

Given Hollywoods pechant for repeating the same successful thing over and over, if Prometheus is a hit, I would think that would be good news for ATMOM. Maybe it would have a chance if the studio saw a successful, high dollar R rated film with similar story elements actually makes money.

I don't think that's quite right, but I'm not looking to argue about it either.:behave There is every chance that the suit gets cut after the creature wraps itself around his arm (outside the suit) and breaks it. One of the other crew members might have a saw, and try to cut the creature. I don't think they'd be saying "I don't want to touch it" if it was writhing around inside his suit and they couldn't even see it.

If the thing is in his throat, how in the hell would he be able to speak?

I'm just pointing out that at some point, a creature enters a crew members body by his mouth, and slides down his throat. I didn't base this on the audio, I based it on images I saw before I heard that audio. Here is one of those images.

I'm assuming they could see it through the tear, or they tear the sleeve open to get at it. Several people seem to get infected with various things, making for a fun time for all!

The scene of dead guy with the thing coming out of his mouth does not appear to be the ampule room, which is where as the ass flower snake scene occurs. There are only a few frames of the mouth burster scene, but that room or hall way looks too dark. The ampule room has it's own light source somewhere. Based on the bloated face, this guy seems to have been dead a while with this thing growing in him. The edges of broken helmet almost look burned. Of course that could be the black goo from the floor.

None of us will know for sure until we see the film.

Thank you Fox, its official Promy is an R, I bet old Ridders is patting himself on the back for this triumph. It did seem for such a long time this would be PG13 or similar, it would've been a real shame to have a watered down movie.

I read a script that was reported to be one of the drafts of At the Mountains of Madness, and it was not very good (he went entirely a different direction than I would want to see in a MOM adaptation, and it ended up being quite derivative of another franchise entirely). I'll be sadly disappointed if Prometheus ends up anything like it.

I can see the overall similarities he's talking about, though. Ancient civilizations and all. I'm not sure what "twist" he was referring to.. the book didn't have one, and I honestly can't remember if the script had one or not (as I said, entirely forgettable).

For those of you who do those incredible screen grabs, anyway to get any of the solid blue SE Suits? particularly the back area and shins? I know were kind of limited as far as material to pull from, but I'm really needing as much ref material as I can on the blue suits.

Regarding the R rating, Damon Lindelhof tweeted about it-

""Prometheus" Rating 1: @DamonLindelof I'm not gonna say the R rating was inevitable, but the PG-13 cut of PROMETHEUS was eleven minutes long."

These suits?

That's about what I was expecting, really, based on the trailers.
