Hi everyone,
I recently (two days ago) picked up a Snow Wolf Pulse Rifle for a bargain price which looked to only need a new coat of paint (it didn't) so here's a few pics of progress so far and my plans for the future. There aren't many pictures as I didn't intend to make any threads about it.
Day 1,
How it arrived and how it ended up.

As you can see the previous owner has already given it a paint job in Tamiya NATO Brown with a Desert Tan base coat and Humbrol Black Gloss over the front end and a little weathering. While this is better than the factory finish it's not to my tastes. There were also a few runs in the paint.
I started out by running it through the chronograph to test the power as I intend to skirmish this at airsoft games then set about tearing it down.

Not bad for a few hours work. You can see some of the original colour on the body where the metal plates were.
I set about cleaning off some of the paint over spray on the metal parts with acetone and wondered how to clean it off the plastic without melting it.
Day 2
Sadly there aren't many pictures but who wants pictures of drying paint when you can have pictures of paint cans :lol
I started the day by rummaging around for my old paints and picking up some new ones. The ones I used are

Halfords grey primer
Halfords matt black
Krylon OD
Hammerite silver
PlastiKote chrome
After a few hours painting I was left with this.

Unfortunately I ran out of OD after doing the metal plates, magazine base plate and top rail.
The Thompson receiver, barrel and shroud have been painted plain matt black and the spas cage has been painted with the silver hammerite as a base coat then the matt black in hopes that as it wears the silver will show through. I may need another coat of black on this though.

The grips have been left unpainted to give a little contrast.
As a nice little bonus here's some more of the original colour showing on the insides of the body

I also did the mod Robiwon showed in his thread that allows longer batteries to fit and removed the fence on the other side of the spas cage so I can fit wider batteries.

To help try and rid everyone of the image of that horrid blue colour here's my rifle with it's companion piece. A Tanio Koba HK VP70 airsoft pistol.

Now onto my plans. As I intend to skirmish this more magazine base plates are high on my list. I'm also looking to make an extended base plate to allow the use of at least one 30 round style magazine in a less ugly fashion than having it sticking out of the bottom of the gun with no baseplate fitted.
Sling mounts are a must. My current idea is to replace the screws which hold the stock on with longer ones and fit a metal plate with a D ring for the rear one and then do something similar for the front but bolt it to the barrel shroud. It won't be screen accurate but at it will be better than my temporary option of paracord loops.
For the sling I already have the same style "dog clips" as the movie slings which I picked up from my local surplus shop a few years back to replace damaged clips on my airsoft slings and I'll be picking up the webbing when I get paid.
I've got a sample of window tint film on the way to put on the ammo counter inspired by Robiwon's mod of using a piece of tinted plastic as the window.
I'm also going to be adding a push to break switch into the ammo counter so I can reset it without removing the magazine.
