I have the legacy one from galaxy’s edge, I think they are very similar. I think legacy comes in the themed box and may have some different sound effects. And yours I believe comes with a stand and belt clip. It has pro’s and con’s I would say. Aesthetically it’s pretty good, most of the correct elements are there I believe (at least for TFA/TLJ), it looks pretty nice on the shelf. Obviously since it’s Disney, it’s “in universe” as opposed to a prop replica. So there are no graflex stampings or serial numbers etc. and the activation switch is the clamp card, not the normal red button. All in all I like mine, I would say the only thing I don’t like is the sound. The speaker is weak and crackly. And that’s just comparing to other sabers from GE, not one made by a sabersmith. I think the motion sensor and clash activation on it is better than other Disney sabers. All in all for the price it’s pretty good and pretty fun. I bought mine as a souvenir of my bachelor party so I love it.
Im sure it can be modded, I’ve seen people convert black series sabers a lot. Though I’ve not done it myself. It’s likely a lot of work though. Honestly if you really want that saber with high quality sound and brighter blade I would say get a graflex replica from korbanth or saber armory. They are both well priced and high quality. Then you could put a basic board like the Verso in it which can do a lot of great features like neopixel blade and smooth swing. That would likely be easier than any modifications to the Disney saber.
The blades on the Disney sabers are pretty average, not a ton of LED’s and not amazing light diffusion. Their biggest upside is ease of connecting in and out of the saber without a set screw or anything.
