REVENGE OF THE JEDI CLAPPERBOARD - NOT A PROP BUT CLOSE...

I recently visited the National Sci-Fi Museum in the UK and they had a real ROTJ clapper on display. Photography isn't allowed but my phone took this photo by mistake ;)

So I thought I'd make my own and this is how it turned out. Using some artistic licence I found a Superman clapper online of the same vintage which showed what was on the back. So I copied that, just for the sake of completeness rather than having nothing on the reverse.

And for those that don't know, "JDC" is the logo of Joe Dunton Cameras who were a movie camera supplier based in Wembley in the UK. I tried to get a job there when I left school but at that time (mid 1980's) the UK movie industry wasn't doing so well.

I guess they only used the cover of “Blue Harvest” in Arizona, maybe Northern California as well? I haven’t gotten around to the making of book, so neat information. Cool prop replica.

The purpose of the Blue Harvest name was to conceal the fact that they were filming a Star Wars movie on location, from the public. When they were filming inside a dedicated movie studio, as they were in England at Elstree, that wasn't such an issue. :)
