Re: My Sony/Universal studios proton pack shell has been recast. With help from RPF U
I'm confused, HMS didn't make the original packs for Ghostbusters, they may have recast something to produce the ones for Universal Florida, but I thought those were produced in house.
It sucks when you get recast, but when you guys mold on Studio Property you always run the risk of a C&D from Sony or Matty. Word is that after the trap Matty will produce a low end pack.
Honor among thieves never seems to work out huh?
I think the recasting rules need to be re-examined.
Recasting an original sculpt, master based on nothing or a licensed product would be a no no, but recasting an existing prop that's been around for years, who's to say that HMS didn't make and sell more than one of these? They seem to have a steady supply of other castings they've sold over the years.
Recently someone in the junkyard wanted to recast an original sculpt produced 20 years ago because the guy isn't around or he recast their work.
Two wrongs don't make a right.
You've obviously made your money back, why not lower your prices and sell them so cheap, these guys couldn't sell any?

just watched a few of Bob's videos, funny guy and his response to GB Fans was priceless. It's very disturbing that a website owner would try to lay claim to Ghostbusters, ridiculous. if this guy does have a show on Discovery, he'll have a lot to talk about.
The only thing I see bad about this whole fiasco is the fact that you guys have painted a huge target on your backs and forums like GB Fans and the RPF for that matter. It's only a matter of time before Sony gets wind of what's really going on and start going after you guys.
Sad day, very bad for the hobby.
