Resident Evil T Virus Tutorial $7

ok so today I decided to make the T Virus a much bigger version then the ones that fit inside the gun but still a decent prop

items you will need and where to get them:
$1 candle (Target)
2 basic spray paint caps (Home Depot)
Clear Vinyl Tubing 1/4" X.170" x 10ft (Home Depot)
Solid Copper Wire 3 ft length (i got it in blue so if it showed through it would still look good) (Home Depot electric area)
Blue food coloring (Publix)
Silver paint (i had rub and buff already so i used that) (didnt add this in price cuz i already had)
Hot Glue gun (didnt add this in $ cuz i already had)
broom handle (didnt add this is price cuz i already had)
& Tape(didnt add this in price cuz i already had)

first thing u gotta do is boil water in a big enough frying pan and lay the candle sideways in the water, make sure 1/2 the candle is in the water and 1/2 is not... Melt the candle enough so it just slides out of the glass container

clean the glass

next slide the blue wire into the clear tube cut off the excess then find the middle and cut in 1/2

hot glue 1 end of the clear tube on both tubes, slide the wire out fill the clear tube with water and food coloring, slide the wire back in and hot glue the other end

wrap the tubes around the broom handle to get desired spiral effect

tape around the glass candle holder thick so the srpay paint caps are snug when u slide them on (these will beable to slide on and off)

paint the caps

slide the spirals into the glass container and put the caps on

I love the idea behind it. I wonder if there is a ay to make the 1/4" tubing stay without the wire? That way you could dye the water a little lighter in color..

Great stuff man. Thanks for the idea! I'm a big time budget propper!

You could try wraping it around something and then heating it up in boiling water. That way it might conform to the shape as it cools.

no prob i saw there were no tutorials anywhere so i just gave it a wack lol.. also u dont have to put the water in it the wire kinda looks like the virus itself but maybe a little thicker wiring lube it up and slide it in lol that sounded naughty

Very nifty project you got there.
Could you theoretically pose the tubing in the correct shape and fill the tubes with tinted resin instead of wire so it keeps a uniform shape?
I realize this would be more pricey but still reasonable.
Just a thought.
Still pretty awesome.
Cheers.
