Replicating the Movies

Inspired by Steve the Swedes latest post I thought I would have a go at recreating a scene from a film using either a minature or prop.

So picture a wet moon lit night. Any digital artists here who know an easy way to create a rain effect?

BTW, feel free to mess around with the image anyway you want.

Cool model...
:thumbsup

Woah Ramiel, I can't believe you managed to knock out that masterpiece so quick :thumbsup

Thanks Montagar for that link, I can now do rain (sort of) although now I need to learn how to do water splashes after looking at Ramiels.

Anyway here's my new version

Great models RKW, and very nice image work guys.

Can anyone add terrain to the any of the finished pics? :)

Jeremy

Thanks.
For the splashes I've copied the image into another layer, I've played with the levels to keep only the highlights of the image, I've add a filter (Filters > Stylize > Diffuse [Normal]) and finally I've set the layer blend to "Screen", that's all.
I'm glad you like it. :)

If you want to get really tricky (in a simple) way, replace the small APC with the Halcyon kit and place the Dropship on wires. Try to keep the APC in focus and the Dropship kinda out of focus. The forced perspective will make it look like the Dropship is lifting off after dropping the APC even though they are only about 12 inches from each other.

It worked for the Skotaks, why not for you.....?

imo that looks superb.

RKW's initial model photo is great, but adding your photoshop work has nailed the "Movie" look

Cheers

You photoshop guys are too talented.

Ramiel that really is impressive. How long di the first one take you?

That's quicker than I thought it'd take, very impressive mate, it looks awesome. One day I'd love to get round to learning it all, how did you get round learn it then? Did you take any courses or is the best way to follow online tutorials and just generally experiment with the features and tools and learn it that way?
