Replica Terrahawks Sergeant Major Zeroid Build

If you notice anything else from EMA or kit bashing then do let us know.

Will do! One avenue is to i.d. any kits which were used on the other models and props and check if they donated anything to the Zeroids as well. Do you have any good pics of the area on the originals? The online stuff is too low-rez, coming from the 16mm source, to be much help.

Lee's right, just keep going. The ali info is interesting, but I'd always assumed they were EMA. Plus it all gets painted anyway!

Those inported Japanese books have been worth every penny so far, amazingly clear picture stills from the show. I've also obtained some scans of some Polaroids that were taken during the actual filming of the models, again, hugely helpful.
Got some good images of the kit bashed detailing of the gun hatch, think mine looks spot on acurate!

Me too!!...I was totally convinced they'd used EMA domes for the body casing, it just made perfect sense to me!
Despite all my searching I don't have any material on the internal mechanics. I can only give it my best guess in this area :unsure

Anyone know where in the UK could I find a reliable company to spin me two aluminium sphere's? Also, a company that could laser cut shapes from an aluminium sphere and manufacture custom metal/brass parts?

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Wow! nice work and something so different too! I loved this show but unfortunately it ruined home ownership for me. What's the point if you cant lunch a ship from beneath your mansion!:cry

Hi,

I also have a replica Sgt. Major Zero on the go (along with many other models). I made the sphere using EMA domes, but I'm not happy with them (they're not strong enough). Where did you get the acrylic spheres from?

BTW - I'm also in the UK.

Bob

I have 35mm photos of an original Zeroid (in bits).

I've been trying to identify the outside 'clips' that hold the sections together?

Ideas anyone?

Bob

Hi again,

You've certainly got the Terrahawks juices flowing again.

I've 'dug-out' my attempt, and realise that I've not far to go prior to painting. The Stand is almost complete, and I've also made the outside panels where the different numbers are, i'e 101, 18, etc. I've always fancied doing a DIX-YOOIT (18). I'll get some photos together and post them.

Can you tell me what diameter of sphere you used for the eyes, and the EMA end cap reference?

Would LOVE to see those 35mm photo's Bob? I have also got polaroids of on set stills I could give you in return.

Great work, and the eyes look spot on. Had an urge to watch some episodes at the weekend, haven't met the urge yet though lol.

Resistance is futile.

Watch some episodes...........you should be pleasantly supplied.

I also have a cast from the original Hudson, which one day (sigh) I'll get round to finishing.

You are insane! Would be good to see 101, Dix-huit with Zero too! Always good since I am a huge Terrahawks fan!

Makes me wanna work on a Zelda, Cystar and Yungstar sculpt now! :D
