Replica "Independence Day" ID4 Alien (full size static prop) W.I.P.

It's been awhile since posting anything up on this idea guys and I sincerely apologise to those who were following this thread. I'm now back in the saddle so to speak and now going ahead with finishing this build, Please see post 53, page 3 for an update on the project.

They made action figures of the aliens, they even made one that stood around 12-14 inches. That might be a good source for getting a look at detail?

Hi, again huge thanks for your help on this, I've taken a look at the site you mentioned but I can't find the guy you are talking about who owns the full size alien? Just need a couple of shots of the back, one full on and one full shot of the entire exo skeleton from the front so I can get the proportions correct.

I still have the 12" interactive alien figure somewhere in my garage, as well as the 6" version, since I've seen them when I was cleaning my storage couple of months back. If interested in it, just PM me.

Sorry for the delay in posting up pic's of what I've managed to achieve so far, been up to my ears with work commitments! well here's a couple of shots of where I'm am with the head section so far, I've still got some initial work to do on it, ie bring the face a couple of inches more forward, the neckline more rounded, then I'll start adding the hood section and the detailing a little later. It doesn't look much at the moment as it is just at the piliminary stages. I've made it out of fibreglass matt and resin so to keep the weight issues down to a minimum, needless to say with the looks of it it's going to be a huge piece! I got to thank all you guys who have helped me out with photo's and models of this exo skeleton, thanks so much! I just need a couple of shots from the side,bac and full frontal to move on with this massive project build. As for the waist issue, well there's nothing on earth that can give me a waist of that size, so I'm just gonna have to work around it! Let me know what you think guys, and any input that you may have on the head so far, thanks for looking.

Oh I'll most definately be going with the organic look to this project as it'll make it stand out and in my honest opinion I don't think any other finish will do it any justice, plus it'll make it look alive!!!!!
