remember when Nicolas Cage tried to be a serious actor...

Vampire's Kiss
Valley Girl
Honeymoon in Vegas
Leaving Las Vegas

That's my list of Cage films I have enjoyed. Many I haven't seen just cuz wasn't my thing.

nope.... he was never trying to be a serious actor....

what movie gave you that impression?

I liked Cage in "Kick Ass". Hilarious, even though Hit Girl stole the show.
I also liked him in "Matchstick Men" "8MM" and of course "Raising Arizona".

"He ate a bug once."
Nothing tops the Indiana Jones movie where Bella eats the fly while trying to convince Indy not to blow up the ark. The guy did not even flinch.

I like Cage in National Treasure 1 and 2. I enjoyed watching him in the Sorcerers Apprentice as well.
I considered his role in Ghost Rider to be a good popcorn movie, purely to entertain without much substance.

My picks exactly to me those are classic "Cage" movies!

He did'nt do too bad for himself especially when his bum uncle would not slide any work his way! :lol ;)

I know Art doesn't like him much at all but I really do. Loved The Rock, loved Con Air, loved Face-Off, loved Gone in 60 Seconds. I don't mind the fact that he is pretty much the same in most of his movies but I know it drives art batty.

How ironic would it be in Bruce Willis and Nicolas Cage were in a movie together with John Travolta, and it was actually a good movie! Watch, filming will be scheduled for December 21'st 2012 with a summer 2013 release. Directed by George Lucas. Were all doomed.

Leaving Las Vegas as Definitely a serious film, and his portrayal in it was exceptional.

I'm a big Nicholas Cage fan. Despite his recent run of **** movies he's been in a bunch of great films.

Kick-Ass
The Weather Man
Lord of War
Adaptation.
Gone in Sixty Seconds
Bringing Out the Dead
Con Air
The Rock
Leaving Las Vegas
Wild at Heart
Raising Arizona

he does make alot of crap now - and straying away from good movies. but its all his own doing. its well known mr cage has a very bad habit - and that habit is spending his money - so thats pretty much why we see him making good stuff and total dross.... he takes anything

still i admire him for being that way i guess - he spends his money and yet isnt afraid to take on a job to keep doing so - most just file bankcrupcy.

but every new cage film i see now hes having a terrible hair day

Heard it was the other way round. Cage wanted to do it on his own and not just get jobs due to his family ties. But whenever I see him in movies he always comes off as a goof.
