I'm incredibly new to prop/costume making and already I fear I may be out of my league... but I'm taking the plunge.
However, the biggest problem I'm having right now is determining what to do for 'eyes' in a helmet. In particular I'm working on a Kamen Rider helmet. I'm going to attempt to use a cheap motorcycle helmet to put wonderflex-reinforced cardstock features upon. But I have no idea where to start for the eyes...
Most of the eyes seem to look like old automobile and bike reflectors. But I can't figure out how to make one at all - and finding some of that size is proving difficult as well. I'm thinking it's just some sort of clear red plastic with a pattern on the back.
Has anyone had any luck with such a thing? I don't have to see through them as most of the time the eyes are more around the forehead area and I'm going to have eye-slits elsewhere. But I would like to diffuse some light through the finished eye lenses so they glow.
Probably not the best idea for a first time project, but I've got almost 2 months to make it... so what the hell~
Thanks!
