I just want to say thanks for seeing my point of view. Also you didn't destroy Don's thread, I'm pretty sure he can take credit for that himself.
 
As a modeler myself it's clearly he took the file. Nobody models the same way each time. Polyflow is like a fingerprint. Everybody thinks diffrent things when they are modeling. They start in diffrent places. Start dragging lines from other directions.

A massive warning is needed here.

Might I say, digital recasting!

I would say everybody that isn't a modeler shut the **** up. It's clearly copied.

whats interesting is all the people defending the obvious digital recasting. (the same thing that pepmaster got banned for i might add) are all under 100 post except for maybe one other guy. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE HELL YOUR TALKING ABOUT. It amazes me the people who are willing to look the other way or defend a scumbag because they are getting something out of it. Its called integrity folks. It means something here, and I assure you that blackkaos has earned the reputation and the right to be upset at this. Its pretty blatantly obvious he stole the work. I hope this schmuck gets the banhammer.

I agree. That's why I was curious as to when the mods were going to step in.
 
I really have no basis to tell if the file is copied or not, however going to have to agree with the last few posts. It would be one thing to have posted a thread advising that they took the original file and reworked it. If that had happened, then I do not believe there would have been any issue. I've had ideas copied and improved upon, and there has been no issues. I've also had things stolen and laid claim to, which is infuriating. Did Black get angry? Sure. Did he have the right if his file is taken and claimed as someone else's? Dang right. Again, I cannot tell if it has been copied, but the argument sounds valid. If credit was not given, it is pretty messed up. The argument that digital recasting is not an issue to get upset about is just stupid. As sad as it is, Blackkaos has done the right thing to make his files password protected. I believe archer said this is a site for sharing ideas, and he is right, and if it wasn't for Black, this file wouldn't have been available to make changes to. Give the man credit if that is the case. Don't bite the hand that feeds. All it does is make it that more difficult for people to want to share ideas with others.

Sorry JFCustoms, I was in defense mode because I was getting continuously hammered and bashed by ExileArchery and another member, ZachWinks, comments. It was starting to look like no one understood or seen what I was seeing. I just want to say that I do appreciate other modeler's input, especially when I have been trying to show examples of the evidence I seen that the file was digitally recasted which is the reason for my initial comments. After that it started to become more personal.

DeathfromAdesk, I have reported this thread twice using the report post action and emailed one of the mods like twice asking for them to take action and I still have not received any answers. I'm trying to be patient but it's more difficult when I have members bashing me for being upset over the matter.

Kashyyyk, I feel that I'm not hard to get along with but I agree that when he took my model and passed it as his own "scratch" build and completely negated the fact it was my model or even give me credit is was really made me upset. I wouldn't have agreed to even allowing him to modify my model, especially if he was going to release the file but If he would have aleast asked me or spoke to me about it then I'm sure that this could have been handled ALOT better and more respectful.
 
It was an evidence from the very start. Take 200 modelers, ask them to model the simplest common sugar cube. 6 faces, 8 vertices. You'll never get 2 identical 3D sugar models. Here we talk about two modelers, and more than 700 faces ! It's just like winning twice consecutively at a 700 numbers loto game...

You can read it, it's short.
Aside the fact that the model he pretended working on had already been completed and shared publicly and freely for years, it sounded suspicious that he felt from the outset the need to underline he did it with the help of some unnamed member of his familly, just like he wanted to avoid... suspicion, precisely. Just like he already brought his witness to avoid the trial. And no one would spontaneously explain neither why he used such or such modeling software, nor where he learnt to use it, except once more if he wants to avoid suspicion. Even a bad medeler knows a model is virtual, vectorial, and thus has no tangible size. A model can not be "too big". He went up to delete 3/4 of a model to simulate it was in progress... but nobody places the chest at the exact height, except if he does already know the size of the legs... He left the board without further adieux, and never admitted he just made a copy/paste only to claim for a stolen glory.

It's a matter of each young generation, I assume at some point each teen wants to experience fame, celebrity, adulation well ahead of time. Just to taste for an hour or two how it fells to be important. And if possible, without working or getting tired. Just like appearing on TV, or having his portrait in a magazine. See guys, it's me, here, just here !! And discarding any aftermath. This previous gundam-guy stole something free, it's not a serious matter. But our Red-hood-guy reshared a premium file, that means it's probably right now copied thousand times on a bunch of cloud storages, that means... simply he killed BK's trading regarding this particular file. A chance he did not pull here the entire set of BK's files.
 
I'm with Black Kaos on this one, I bought a file of this from him for my own use, and the file I have from him, is a spitting image of the "Original" one on this post.

I am sorry for the delay in making a response regarding this. Mind you, this isn't an absolute RPF stance on this sort of thing and will have to be taken on a case by case basis.

Digital recasting can be a grey area sometimes. In this particular case, the evidence isn't clear as day to support the claim of digital recasting. While the files appear to be very very similar in design, we can't make a determination that it is in fact that same file.

That being said, I would suggest that everyone move on. Also, part of the reason that this thread became messy as quick as it did are due to the heated accusations right from the get go. I realize that when passions run high, it's not always easy to keep one's cool. But it is important to keep all of that in mind when interacting on our boards here.

The theft of someone's design should not happen if that is in fact what has happened here. There aren't very many times that it doesn't get found out. So my advise, just don't do it. Have respect for the original creator as well as all of the members on the RPF.

Hopefully lessons were learned by those involved and we can move forward.
