RED ALERT Lost 3 ft TOS Enterprise found????

I had mentioned in this thread back on Nov. 3rd:

I should add that I mentioned the 32" model to someone I know who is "in the know" about such things this past Wednesday, and he told me that he and another person "in the know" (and quite notable in Trek circles) had been aware of the model for at least the past 2 weeks.

So even his info. may have been rather old at the time, but it's nevertheless interesting that some "plugged in" people (Like darendoc for example) had seen prev. unknown photos - whenever they may have been taken - of the 1/4 scale model within just 6 months prior to it showing up on Ebay. Could be a remarkable coincidence, and that those were very old photos.

I just can't see however, how the people who bought the contents of that storage locker could have known what they had before putting it on Ebay - if they did, there would have been no point to their posting it for such a short period of time, and for so little. And to expose themselves to some of the darker elements of Trek fandom. Better to have skipped directly to being screwed over by HA.

I keep wondering just what would have happened had the Storage Wars guys listed the model with a BIN of $1,000 on eBay and someone grabbed it before the rest of the world had seen it

I suppose it would still be “lost” like the Ark of the Covenant…

I bid on it. I knew I wasn't going to get it, and I wasn't at all surprised when the auction was cancelled. My dream plan if I won was to document it thoroughly, display it in my house, and have my Dad come up to visit so he could see it as he got me into watching Trek when I was a kid when it was rerun in the 70's. Then, after I had it for a few months, I was going to contact Rod through intermediaries and arrange for him to acquire it.

Like I said, this was just my "pie in the sky" dream as I knew either the auction would reach the stratosphere and I'd have to drop out, or the auction would get cancelled (which is what happened). But, it was nice to dream for a few hours.

So, what you're telling me is, Heritage is a bunch of crooks. Got it.

Video is not playing for me...but, as I read the previous post, lawyers are going to have a field day with that suit:oops::oops::rolleyes::rolleyes::(:(

Nice job!

Vid is still not working for me:unsure::(

Saying that, if I had discovered the model in a locker and new exactly what it was and the history behind it I would've":

1)
Kept it for me, not saying anything to anybody and to never showed it to anyone...EVER!
2) Returned it to its owner (G.R. family) and, maybe, accepted a reward...or at least a mention in the news or other media.
3) Putted for sale on Ebay and get "The fit is going to hit the shan" and all of the crazy stuff happening with various parties as we're seeing now.

Mmmh, decision, decision, decision:lol::lol:

Well they got half a million. I would have been perfectly fine with that....

Once I knew, I would have consulted multiple legal counsel on possession laws, and put it in a bank security box immediately. I would not hand it over to anyone without a judges ruling and even then appeal if needed. Millions at stake.

The analysis in the video seems to indicate that the only reason they haven't is that they won't sign the last of 3 documents needed to complete the process. Is it irony if they tried to hold out for more money at the last second, and end up not getting anything at all?
On second thought, I am not a lawyer, so I will just shut my trap.

I am a lawyer, but all I'll say is that the allegations in the complaint and cross-complaint are just that, allegations. It's up to the two respective sides to conduct discovery and produce evidence to back up their claims, which hasn't happened yet. My popcorn maker and I will await developments. :)

I recommend a trip to Thunderdome to settle this for the parties in dispute.

Or a spin of the wheel.

“Bust a deal…face the wheel!!!”
