Now a quick question. Could you give some pointers for someone that's starting to sculpt? For example I'm working on my first sculpt (too early for it's own thread) and I find myself with a lot of lumps throughout the sculpt and continuously adding and removing clay trying to even it out. I am using Monster Makers clay, whats the easiest way to smooth and even a dome/round type helmet? Thanks.

Yeah, man - MA represent! Always cool to see other RPF members here.
This sculpt was actually done with monster makers clay. It's a bit hard, for sure. You can find other softer oil based clays out there, which can reduce working time quite a bit. All hope is not lost, though! Try taking your sculpt out into the sun to work, or better yet take a blow dryer or heat gun to it. Heat softens (or even liquifies) this clay, so use it sparingly. Once you have everything in shape, you can soften lesser areas (and to a lesser extent) by using rubbing alcohol (get the stronger stuff) as a solvent. Sand using the webby drywall sandpaper to get everything nice and smooth.
We brought the turtle sculpt to a friend's FX shop (he's worked on the first Narnia movie, The Departed, the Fighter, Arrested Development, and lots of other great projects) to get some pointers on giving him across the finish line about a month or so ago. It was great to see some techniques displayed in person. I went to a "fine arts" school, so what I learned was primarily about form. Ben, our FX friend, went to an FX school - what he learned was primarily about finishing. He feels like he's still catching up on the form side of things after years in the industry, but he sure had a lot to teach me about getting those textures and surfaces locked down. We'll probably go back to get his help in molding this beast, to make sure I don't mess it up. Here's a picture of Ever working on the sculpt in his shop:

Hey Westies 14, thanks for the tips but I'm having issues and was wondering if you can direct me a bit better. I was looking for the "webby drywall sandpaper" and I can't find it. Could you send me a link of where I can purchase it or point me in the right direction? I also tried using some regular rubbing alcohol that I had at home but didn't really do anything to my sculpt. I read that you can use Mineral Spirits, is that what you were talking about?
I'm doing a Red Hood sculpt over here and I want it to have a glass smooth finish. I also read something that said to put alcohol on it then heat it up to get it to a wet point and quickly spray it with compressed air to get that finish. What do you think about that?

The Monster clay is very hard stuff. You'll need to use the 99% isopropyl alcohol to eat away at it, and even that will be a very minimal effect - use that for your real "finishing" stage.
The drywall sandpaper can be bought at any hardware store in the sandpaper section! "Webby" was just a description, not a brand - it's like a web grid, rather than gritty paper. Here's a picture:

Dude that sculpture is sick! I'd totally buy one of these!! I think they should make the turtles look like this honestly, it looks more like a snapping turtle, but keep it up!

I'm in awe in the level of detail on the textures. The scales are simply amazing, I love it!! I'm excited to see the progress and will be following this thread for sure. I loved the turtles growing up, deffo one of my fave cartoon as a kid. I really like your stylized approach, always been a fan of "realistic" versions of cartoons.
