REAL Highlander TV series katana.

David, since you talk with Sal, do you know if he was given any instructions on the katana design? I know Connor has the Chinese dragon and Duncan, the more traditional, but I've always been curious if the producers originally had the intention of Connor passing his sword to Duncan. In the first episode, Connor just had a regular katana and in some other episode, Duncan said his sword was given to him by his kinsmen.
But of course, all that stuff was thrown out the window in season three when they did the "origin" story.

yes supposidly, they DID give him a design to go by.
If i remember correctly, the Duncan dragon head design game from a party paper plate. Supposidly the dragon head design was on a paper plate, or it might have been a paper napkin. and he just went with that design.

I thought i'd throw this up.
Folks wanted to see what my Musashi tanto looks like.
This is a one of a kinda custom peice Made by Sal........

literally razor sharp

unlike Sal's standard Musashi which features grey aging, this one features a brown aging, a much nicer look to me.

Cool. Until I can spare about 25 odd grand for a blade forged by a Japanese master (one day I hope.) these sound like a pretty decent option.

Fine, collectible-quality antique nihonto, made by traditional Japanese swordmakers, can be had for much less than 25,000 dollars.

Back on topic, these are very interesting-looking modern blades. That hada, in particular, seems to be coming through very sharply under presumably natural light in the photo.

iv heard marto is the way to go but im wondering shood i order from marto official site or would it be safer to order from the highlander catalog i just want to be sure i get a real marto not a fake

a bit off topic as this thread is not about Martos, but REAL swords.

Martos are just fine as dust collecting wallhangers, thats about it.

(scratches head...)

I've got the Marto (wallhanger) Connor Katana. I love the thing even though it's not technically SA.
I DO wish that I knew of some way to mount my chen shinto blade in the handle, but even though I'm stuck with a 420 stainless blade, I'll live. It's not like I'm actually planning to use it lol.

I don't know which you should buy it through, although I bought mine from the Highlander site.
Man... that was all the way back in '01.
