i couldnt see any rules about posting screen caps but if its not allowed please feel free to delete.

I took all these particular images to help me as i work on my cyberman puppet. Also i thought others including cyber might want better images of the hair and i also took some that show how the eyes alter with his facial movements and one to show teeth.

now i few things i want to know,
Has anyone got images of them punching the hair on a yoda/the tools used to do it.
Anyone got the correct paint colour details.
How to/ where to on the teeth.
ive got a mechanism planned for the eyes and hopefully cyb will have sourced the perfect yoda eye by the time i need them, i know the cloth details and plan on carving my own real wood cane for him. obviosly ill be limited on facial movements but ill be happy with mouth/eye for now

its allowed.

but it would be MORE allowed if they were HD caps.

and i would be more cool if i could figure out how to cap HD... :unsure

LOL.

nice pics for face movement etc though.

cant wait to see one of these finished.

got a feelin its gonna be one of those things i have to have even though i cant afford it. LOL.

yeh ill need to get sorted for HD.

i find the facial movement facinating as if we were to make a static yoda based on say the second image or the last image anyone looking would think omg what have you done lol

Great timing - I've just finished painting mine and have started hand-punching the hair.

Thanks for the screen caps, very useful.

share the paint details if you can. the varations of green/brown i got and used on my test head were poor also how are you doing the hair m8 cos i tried that on my test head too and not having done this before i wish i had filmed it so you could all have a laff :p

Don't forget to do the "squeeze" on the screen caps so that they are the correct aspect ratio (and so that Yoda doesn't look quite so pin headed :D).

I don't know what other people use, but I'm using Windsor and Newton artists acrylics - sage green, titanium white, burnt sienna, black and yellow.

I just play around with the colours until I find a tone I am happy with, then gradually build the paint job up with an airbrush.

Remember, there were 4 different puppets used in ESB and none was exactly the same as the other - plus the colour changes anyway depending upon the lighting, filter and so on from scene to scene. That's why it's so hard to get a defined Yoda colour.

The colour I have opted for this time is mostly a very light jade/sage green, with 'grass green' highlights, dark bluey green detailing and a brown wash. It's taken quite a few attempts and tweaks but I am now pretty happy with it.

For the hair, Cyb showed me a good trick - take a needle and snip the part where you thread it in half, giving a 'U' shape. You can then use this to punch the hairs in. I'm using real human hair on mine.

Hope this is of some help, good luck with it.
