Re: My 1st attempt at a Pep costume.
Hey all, I'm still at it, albeit very, very slowly.
Ok...where I'm at ? Well I have about 3/4 of the armour pieces fibreglassed, I haven't had any time at all to finish glassing the remaining parts.
Hopefully once the whole X-mas thing is out of the way I should be able to find a weekend or two to finish the glassing stage.
Meanwhile I have been thinking to myself "how the hell am I going to bog all this ?"
1. It's going to take a crap load of bog due to the size of the polygons in the pep. And 2. I ****in' hate sanding bog........with a passion!!!!!!
So I thought "why not skin it with something". Now what to use, well after reading a few of the foam builds it dawned on me....FOAM.
Found some 5mm thick foam at the local hardware store and some 2 and 3mm foam at a art store and away I went.
Started with the thighs.
The upper arm pieces.
A fore arm piece.
And started on one of the boots.
The ends of each piece still need to be skinned but I need to work out how to web all the parts up yet, I may have to cut the ends yet to web it all together.
I'm pretty happy with "skinning" it this way, like I said I hate bogging and sanding with a passion and I think I have more of a chance finishing this costume using this method.
Ah well till next time.............
