been working on this the past week or so. ive installed about 3/4 of the fibers now and im getting things together. I have still have a ton of clean up work and detail to rebuild as the construction of the super structure did not go together as smoothly as I would have liked but I really happy with how she is turning out. Im expecting to have her assembled by the end of the weekend and then on to cleaning up and priming.

Comments?

I think ill have about 1300 fibers installed when she is done:love

Wow!!! I'm speechless! It's like there's a movie sequel coming out where your SD will be used! Keep it up! We'll be watching! :thumbsup

whoah, thats really great ! i want to do fiber optics to mine also.

could you provide some detail information, which diameter fiber optics are you using and which diameter holes have you drilled ??

thanks,

Great job Chris! Yeah, what diameter fibers are you useing? How many LEDs?, how many in a bundle? What color LEDs? etc...

That's going to look amazing!!!! More detailed info would be great.

Hi, may be its a very amatour question but i need to ask...

I saw that you install the fiber before you paint the model. OK. Dont they get paint on their heads while you are painting or air brushing the kit ?

I how will you manage to protect the lighting heads of the fiber not to get painted to lid ?

I hope I found the right words to discribe my question.

And, it is fantastic....
Cheers.

I believe people leave them sticking out during the painting, then
trim them flush when completed. Trimming them gives you a clear
head on them again. Thats one way I have seen them done anyways.

I have about 25 LEDS to wire up and some final clean up work and then she is off to paint
