Rare Bttf Marty Mcfly Aiwa HS-PO2MKII walkman "SCORE"

Re: Just scored a rare bttf marty aiwa walkman

Thats really cool! Im a big fan of vintage walkmans. I still have a box of cassette tapes that I made in the 80's and 90's of stuff recorded off the radio. Love to find a player that still works. I belive the Van Halen song was Eruption?

No, it's not Eruption. It's actually part of a longer clip from the movie The Wild Life.

Re: Just scored a rare bttf marty aiwa walkman "Looking for accurate cassette tape"

You posted the correct one. There was no video footage in that, but the audio in that video is indeed the same correct one which was taken from the original video posted by Mike and myself (last year). It's just that the track is not called Donut City.

Donut City is another song also released on the soundtrack for The Wild Life.

Yeah, it's not Donut City. The clip is from the Wild Life and can be found on the soundtrack. Problem is, the soundtrack was only released on vinyl. It shows up in the movie during a scene when I think Alex Winters falls out a window.

Ptibull, I have the clip in .wav format. PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.

very cool score. I've been looking at walkmans for my metal gear display and holy crap they're expensive for relics lol.

You're welcome, Mike. :)

And since I'm not sure if those tape labels are really golden (I've just searched on Google), I've made a silver version too. Here it is:

US-Letter version: Van_Halen_Tape_Stickers_Silver_Version_remade_by_Roland_Zubcic_US-Letter.pdf
A4 international version: Van_Halen_Tape_Stickers_Silver_Version_remade_by_Roland_Zubcic_A4.pdf

looks good now did you print the whole label or just the top writing?

What paper did you use also?

Not bad to see those stickers printed. :) But you should use just the "silver" Maxell label and the white Van Halen sticker. I drew the black tape behind them for "decoration" purposes only. ;)

By the way: Here is a (lightened) screen cap of the tape from an untouched HD file.

Well I decided to get this Aiwa fixed.Ill be sending this walkman off to a stranger who fixes vintage Walkmans.Hes on eBay and his name is Retropcdos.I did some research on him and he seems legit and he's also on YouTube.I described to him my issue and he says it might just be the belt.I just worry about him scratching it or something but I hear he does flawless work.We shall see lol.

I think I saw this same guy and was thinking of doing the same but I'll let you be the guinea pig. Please let me know your experience. Also, I want your belt clip, this is not the belt clip your looking for!

That thing is in such pristine shape it is ridiculous. Nice find! Good luck on getting it working again.
