R.I.P. Michael Gough

I might watch 'The horror of Dracula' later on, Gough, Cushing and Lee are a great combo in that movie.
 
Wow that sucks. I thought he was dead already though but damn. He was the only Alfred in my eyes. Don't know him from anything else. He'll be missed.
 
Hell of an actor. Terrific range. Don't forget, he also played Alexander Helphand in Fall of Eagles.
 
It came back to me thinking about Gough I saw him in "The Horse's Mouth" from 1958 as Abel the crazy sculptor along side Alec Guinness who wrote the screenplay and stars in the film about a rather half-crazy artist and semi-conman. I remember thinking I know who this guy is, but had to pull up IMDB to discover it was Gough who in the film is this strapping and dangerous loon. It's a really good film watching Guinness play this crazy artist alongside Gough. Worth a look. You'll be amazed it's the same guy who went onto play such an erudite Alfred in the "Batman" films...
