Ok, so here's the vid I promised:
The batteries can easily be changed on the back side. But they won't need to be changed very often with the 200+hr run time you'll get out of them. This is actually what is being pressed to turn the LED on and off. When you press the controller against your leg it will click on, and if your at a con or something you can just leave them on the whole day, no prob. I'm still working on a mounting system to hide this portion behind the pant leg so it is not visible when worn.
Here are a few more pics of what the finished pieces look like that I'll be offering:
I decided to leave them a relatively shiny chrome-like finish as they will dull somewhat the more they are handled, but I'm happy to add a black wash to weather them further for those wanting that.
I'll start taking orders soon. I only have 25 spots on this first batch.

Oh yes, definitely. I'm currently sourcing different materials to not only make this look more screen accurate, but to integrate as part a system to attach it to the pants and change the battery.

Did you ever figure out a way of including the mesh or mounting these?
Yes, I have sourced a woven fabric for mounting purposes which I'll be including. I'll upload pics and more details soon.
