Quick Resin Question

Hey, I need to ask if anyone has found a way (other than a helmet fan) to rid the scent of resin from a Pepakura helmet. I've considered washing it thoroughly but I've heard even that doesn't work. I also thought maybe scented candles inside it while I'm wearing it:lol. But seriously, If anyone has any ideas as to how to rid that smell I would be eternally grateful.

Oh and does anyone know where to get CHEAP copper wire. Everywhere I've looked, its fairly expensive, stupid inflation. I need it for my Arc Reactor. It doesn't even have to be copper wire, just has to look like it cuz it's only for show.

Thanks for any help you guys give!

would using some kind of sealer, like bullseye shellac, do the trick? or perhaps just time. ive got some resined helmets that have been sitting for a year plus that no longer smell.

Air it out, if it's a relatively closed helmet use a fan and just let it fit. I did that and also let some baby powder sit in it for a night and the smell is completele gone.

I was going to say stick in it a draughty spot for a few months ;) I don't use polyester resin for this reason. I tried it once and pretty much tossed the rest.

If all your card is sealed you could try a wash of some sort. Apparently polyester resn is more water permiable than epoxy so it's not something I am recommending at all. Try it on a test piece to see how much of an effect the water and soap has.

For wire have you looked in craft stores with jewellery making supplies? And those dollar stores? I know I can pick up small lengths of wire in quite a variety of colours (including funky metallic shades) in small lots from places like those. Usually of around a 24ish gauge.

Prime it.
I kinda meant the inside but thanks for the advice. I know paint covers the outer smell but the scent of that $#!& inside the helmet is just overwhelming. Oh and I'll try that baby powder idea. That seems like it might do the trick.
And forget the copper wire thing, my friend has a ton of 32 guage copper wire he's givin me for nothin so it's all good:)
