question that's been bugging me

Why don´t you ask that question in your thread´s title?!

And a look at the RPF-member/moviesites LLC community guidelines may partially answer your question.

It's not me but I've been watching "How to make a cosplay" Facebook page and it seemed sketchy and started to conversation that he claimed he was posting photos and mainly a middle man

It's a Bad practice. Borderline fraud.

You know the ads that say, "I'm a non-attorney spokesperson." .....They say that so you KNOW they are being paid to say it.

That's how it's supposed to be.

I've entered into an informal partnership with Brian Johnson (Johnson Arms). He's listed my products on his Etsy page, and we split it 50-50.

Of course, I know Brian personally, and have hung out with him many times, so it's not like I picked a random partner out of thin air.

Do your due diligence: ask around.

Some times in that situation, the original maker has a bad reputation for recasting or failing to produce. Thats why they need a middle man to sell their stuff.
