Question for 501st dudes

I was curious to know if there was any documented information
about the most amount of suited TK's in the same place at one time?

I'm assuming it would be a convention, but anyway - would love to
know more and see any photos of the garrison!

:thumbsup

I'd say either Celebration III or the Tournament of Rose 2007 parade. I'll try to find some pics.

Here's CIII:

CIV looks a bit smaller:

I couldn't find a complete pic of the Rose parade group. About 200 of us, though some were Snowtrooper and Scouts. Not many, though.

Great pics:thumbsup I'm sure depending on when/where the next celebration is held, the record will be easily broken(y)thumbsup

That is fantastic! I have never seen so many like minded costumes/suits outside of a civil war re-enactment gathered in one place.

Now why do I have that song running thru my head...

"five-oh-first duuuuuudes... carry the new-hews... five-oh-first DUUUUUUUdes..."

AWEsome pics! I saw the Rose Parade movies posted on the Internet!

We need to get you 501st types into doing some "grinder drills" as we called them in the Navy! Basic marching maneuvers, rhythm, basic commands, standing at ease so when the parade stopped you could march in place or stand at ease, and finally unison!!!!!!!:lol

We did learn lots of basic stuff for the parade. We spent five days practicing with a real drill sargeant on a football field. We were in sync for the first half of the 5.5 mile parade. I started getting some bad shoulder fatigue carry the flag so I eventually gave up staying in step while I concentrated on surviving. Oh yeah...I had to pee the entire march. I was in a porta-potty when the call came that we were stepping off, so I had to pinch it off and get the armor back on straight quickly. I was contemplating just going (no way I was going to quit!) when the parade finally ended. The front page of the Pasadena Star News showed a picture of me entering a porta potty.

lol Wouldn't it be great if someone decided to do a big Star Wars battle re-enactment? I'm not exactly sure what battle, but I think if enough peopel agreed to do it, it'd be pretty fun. Maybe we could all use paintball guns in the shape of E-11s and such.

I think someone who just jumped in along the way wearing some kind of made up cyborg officer costume.

I'd say it was probably the Tournement of Roses Parade. I was the back-up vader for that and compared to the cons I've been to it was HUGE. I'll have to dig up my framed group photo out of storage unless someone here can dig up an online version. I have 4 versions of our photos from LFL (IE: entire group versus just our garrison) and even the smallest seem large. I wish I had a scan of the entire photo. One of the pics I have is Stormtroopers only and no Vaders, Royal Guards, extra characters etc. And that still looked PACKED! I believe we had like 300 Stormtrooeprs alone.
