question about this Green Lantern ring

So a few years ago I went to my first SDCC in 2005 while I was their a friend of mine had a bag of GL rings. He said that a friend of his was working on making a GL and that the bag he had were prototypes and rejects and he let me grab one. So all this time I have had it and I havent done anything with it. So now I want to get it resized. I just have a couple of questions, from the pictures I have here, does any body think their is something missing from the middle? To me it looks like there was going to be a green jewel or something to that effect. Also does anybody have any idea who might have created it??

Just my opinion on a purley asthetic look, it appears that they might have had a green stone in mind to go in the center, but I think it looks pretty good just the way it is.

I agree that it does look like a stone would go there.
